On Saturday, October 13, 2001 the Dondero High School Marching Band will
participate in the Clarkston Invitational held at Clarkston High School. The contest will
begin at 2:30 and includes 22 bands in four different flights. The contest will end around
9:30.

Adults may purchase tickets for $5.00 and will be available from Mr.Foreman the week
of the competition. Students and Senior Citizens may purchase tickets at the gate.
Tickets purchased in advance will help repay the Boosters the $150 registration fee for
the contest. If tickets are purchased from the band, checks should be made payable to
Dondero Band and Orchestra Boosters.

The following is the tentative time schedule for Saturday:

1:00 - Load truck
1:15 - Meet in band room and prepare to depart
1:45 - Depart for Clarkston
2:30 - Arrive at Clarkston, Unload truck, go to homerooms
3:30 - Warm Up
4:05 - Report to Gate
4:15 - Performance
4:30 - Watch other FlightIII performances
5:15 - Awards Ceremony for Flights IV and III
5:30 - Dinner Break
6:15 - Watch Flight I and II bands
9:30 - Flight I and II awards
10:15- Leave Clarkston
11:00- Arrive back at Dondero

We will be staying to see the Flight I and II performances for this competition. This year,
the Clarkston Invitational has drawn several of the top bands in Michigan, and it gives us
a wonderful opportunity to see what they have been doing. If a student can not stay that
late, they must be picked up from Clarkston High School by their parent, and they must
submit a written notice by the end of the day on Friday.
As you may have heard, show is now complete, and this will be our first weekend out
playing the full show. I hope that everyone can make it out to see us.
